Excitement is mounting as Lyric prepares to stage the West of Scotland Amateur Premiere of Disney’s classic, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!   Over the summer months the management team have been hard at work putting everything in place to ensure that this production will not disappoint.   Without doubt, the most adventurous and lavish show Lyric has staged in its proud 108 years, we have pulled out all the stops to bring our audiences something really special.

The show will be directed by Alan C Jones and this will be his fourteenth show for Lyric.   Musical Director is Tom Daniels who makes a welcome return to guide us through what is a magnificent score.  Following hot on the heels of their triumph with last year’s production of 42^nd Street, we have re-engaged Jonathan Parsons and Marie McEllhinney as Choreographers of the piece so you can expect breath-taking dancing!  Our spectacular and brand-new set will be provided by Scenic Projects, without doubt, the country’s top scenic supplier and the wardrobe, including all the fabulous enchanted objects, is being created by another top company, Molly Limpet’s in Sheffield.   Backing the singing will be a live 19 piece orchestra and on stage we aim to have a company comprising the most talented amateur performers the west of Scotland can provide.

Rehearsals are progressing extremely well and everyone is enjoying putting this mammoth show together.  The principal cast are simply the best, each one re-creating the role to perfection and the choroegraphed routines are quite literally breathtaking to watch.
 
Booking is now opened and already some areas of the theatre are sold out for most performances.  If you haven't yet booked your seats, I wouldn't waste time in doing so otherwise you may end up disappointed.
 
A nice surprise for any children coming to the show is we are hoping they can have the chance to meet the characters in the foyer afterwards.  And children, if you want to come dressed as one of these characters, you are more than welcome to do so.
